We have all experienced days where some of the weight we have worked so hard to lose comes back. Maybe some kilos or inches! It may be because we have not been able to diet or exercise for some reason. For example, I was down with COVID in May and I put my intermittent fasting on hold because I needed the nutrition. When I recovered, I felt like eating all the time. Though I tried to eat intelligently, chose fruits but sometimes I was tempted and ate foods which were delicious but fattening. The scales started moving.
It was then I realized that I was in the danger of gaining all my weight back. So I decided to set a limit and now if my weight crosses that limit I cut down on any indulgence.
Intermittent fasting is a good idea. But there are times we are tempted to indulge. We can not be saints all our lives. However, we can follow some basic rules that will always keep our weight in check.
Firstly, don’t eat after sunset because that seriously impacts your metabolism. Secondly, try eating anything fatty before lunch or in the morning and always ensure that your last meal of the day is a protein rich one. Lastly drink as much water as you can. The more water you will drink, the more weight you will lose.
Another important aspect that most of us forget is to be in love and acceptance of who ever you are. Media is constantly bombarding us with images of what we ideally should be. Clothes are made for ideal measurements and plus sizes are considered well… plus sizes. However, the thing is if you love your body and accept it as it is, you will stop berating yourself for every slip up. Then you will come to a point when you will accept yourself as you are.
Remember- Beauty is always in the eye of the beholder and you are the first beholder for you. So if you behold yourself as beautiful, you will start loving yourself unconditionally and automatically do things that are good for you.
