Drinking Water for Weight Loss

All my life, I was never the one to drink water deliberately. Yes, if I felt thirsty, I would drink water but to me water was never that important. I never thought that water could help me to lose weight. So the question how much water should I drink to lose weight, never entered my mind in the last so many years.

But ever since I have started my weight loss/ fat loss program, water has become an important ingredient of my diet. When I researched on the net about how much water to drink to lose weight, I found out that drinking at least 8 glasses of water are essential!

I have a tendency to eat when I am stressed or worried about something. These days, when I feel hungry, the first thing that I do is to drink at least two glasses of water. It helps me to calm down and somehow I don’t feel like eating anymore.

I prefer luke warm water when the weather is cold. Sometimes, I dip a green tea bag or add some basil to the warm water to change things a bit. These days, with the summer setting in, I like to add some lemon juice to normal water. The lemonade sans sugar is still so refreshing!

Whatever said and done, I ensure that I drink at least eight glasses of water every day. Yes, sometimes, it is a tough call because this is still a behaviour I am learning. I try not to drink water during my meals (unless something is really spicy).

Some times, when I am sitting and writing something and I just feel like having a cup of tea, I drink hot water instead. I pretend it is tea that I am drinking! I have a friend adds a lot of ice to the water in the summer and drinks it slowly, as if she is having ‘scotch on rocks’!

Now that I have been practicing intermittent fasting, water has become the best solution for my hunger pangs too. Once you get used to it, drinking water actually feels good!

You don’t have to worry about how much water to drink. For weight loss, it is just important that you drink water whenever you feel thirsty or even hungry. It will help you to curb your hunger pangs and even anxiety! I have realized water is my best friend!
