Relearning chewing

I forgot chewing!

If there is one thing I have learnt in these last few days is that chewing plays a great role in controling obesity.

I have always been a fast eater. For most of the years, I have been proud of this habit of mine. My time management was impeccable because I never ‘wasted’ a lot of time on eating food. At work too, lunch was a hurried affair because there was such a lot to do. As a result, I ate a lot of food in hurry and never waited for my body to actually tell me to stop.

Today, I realize how wrong I was . Spending time with food is the most important thing to do for all of us. Eating is one of the most important activities of our lives because that is the source of all our energy and nourishment.

Eating good nutritious food slowly is the key to a healthy life. We all know it takes atleast 20 minutes for our brain to realize that the stomach is full. Just imagine what fast eating does? It makes us gorge on fast foods, empty calories and sugar. As a result, we have become a constantly hungry population despite our bulging our waist lines.

Fast eating does so much more. It keeps fast food companies and hospitals in business. It generates millions of bucks for those actors who mislead us into believing that they gorge on chips and icecreams while in reality they eat the most nutritious food.

The point is whether you believe it or not taking time over your food is the most important thing that you would do for yourself! Years later, you would thank yourself for it.
