DISCOVERING THE FIT ME

Just walking

I have never been a sports aficionado or a person who enjoys working out. However, I throughout my life, I have loved long walks and hikes. So, you can say I was moderately active most of my life. I liked walking to the nearest store, strolling in the park and listening to birds and the whisper of trees.

Now, as I am getting back to my fit self, I am rediscovering the joys of a simple stroll to the market, the pleasure one experiences in window shopping and the ecstacy of swinging on a swing as the wind whispers through the trees.

Somehow amidst the constant rat race, I had lost sight of these simple pleasures. Gyming and exercising is good. But then fitness is also about what you enjoy. As you get lighter, walking becomes a pleasure and not a chore.

Have you ever realized, most children don’t need all these heavy doses of exercise. They are naturally fit because they run around, play around and are always up and about.

They eat everything but they stop eating the moment their stomach is full and no amount of cajoling can make them take another bite. Our natural state or perhaps our original version was a fit version. Now, I am rediscovering that version which has been buried under a coat of fat.
