
We want to have it all. We want all the chips, pastries, cakes and yet not put on weight. The companies use this to create all kinds of diet foods, diet chips, fat free icecreams and charge a bomb for these. We love the idea because it takes away the guilt of indulging in these snacks. But do diet snacks really work?
Our body has been designed to use carbohydrates and fat for energy. It uses protein for building muscles and repairs. Our mostly sedentary but mentally exhausting lifestyle hardly allows us to be up and about all day. So, these diet foods which mostly have carbohydrates and some interesting chemicals are stored as fats in our body. So diet food is actually fat food.
The truth is protein rich diet, lots of water, no junk and regular exercise- there is no substitute for these if you really want to have a fit body!
