Suppressed emotions, unfulfilled desires and not being able to express ourselves are sometimes the cause of our emotional eating wherein we eat our emotions which our accumulated inside our body as in the form of fat. Who triggers these emotions? Mostly it is our own family and friends. People, we think mean the best but actually they don’t. When emotions are suppressed and desires are not fulfilled, then frustration arises. Most people are unable to voice their frustration because they are either ignored or their voices are drowned out by other voices. They are plastered with emotional blackmail and all kinds of statements that are designed to shake their belief. This results in silence and a quiet protest which is staged by the body.

Generally, when I am happy, I don’t feel like eating without reason. In those days, I eat for nutrition and sustenance. However, when I am not very happy, I eat to silence my inner voice which keeps telling me to protest and do what what is right. I keep quiet because I want to maintain the peace in the house and not hurt people. What does that do to me? It makes me carry those excess pounds which were actually words and things I should have actually told the person who was hurting me!

Do you do that? Do you eat your own emotions?
